The Rocks Walking Tour, established in 1978, is the oldest Sydney guided walking tour, and in fact it's the oldest in Australia.
In 1978 four friends with a passion for Sydney and its rich history had the dream of sharing that story. They knew that the story of Sydney's historic The Rocks district would best tell the Sydney story from day one, 26 January 1778 until the present day.
After personally researching the historical material, writing the tours, developing and reviewing the routes they were ready to go.
As the first guided walking tour in Sydney they initiated their own professional guidelines, corporate uniforms and earned an enviable reputation among Sydney's tourism industry.
Today the company's fully trained Sydney local tour guides are equally committed, specifically chosen for their commitment to the story of Sydney, the historic Rocks district and the interpretation of that story.
Through its reputation, The Rocks Walking Tours has built up a strong clientele with major tour companies, incentive and conference organisers, tourists, return travellers and educational institutions, thereby attracting thousands of people annually to this popular visitor destination.
Our area of expertise covers not only The Rocks and Miller's Point but other areas of interest extending into the City of Sydney including Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, The Royal Botanic Gardens, Macquarie Street, Bridge Street and Macquarie Place.
Often referred to as "The Original Rocks Walking Tour" or "The Original Sydney Walking Tour", The Rocks Walking Tour is still one of the highlights of a Sydney visitors' experience. It has strived throughout the years to maintain the highest standards in all facets of its business operations.
Our friendly and informed guides provide an easy paced, memorable Sydney tour.
